Peter Barnett Memorial Award 2015

At the REPRODUCED SOUND 2015 Conference of the Institute of Acoustics in the UK I received the "Peter Barnett Memorial Award" citing "For technical excellence, practical advancement and education in the fields of electro-acoustics and speech intelligibility".

Soundtrack (11 minutes, 10.8 MB, 128kbps mp3, stereo) of Keith Holland opening the Conference and  Glenn Leembruggen presenting the Award to me.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to all of you who where involved with giving me this award!

The memorial statue
(I got caught in the reflection photographing the mannequin)
The award, a beautiful crystal and citation, were given to me by Glenn Leembruggen (Acoustic Directions, Australia) at the opening of the conference. Here is an outdoors reenactment for my camera.

Inscriptions on the 4 plaques of the memorial statue:

Go to the web page with the paper that I wrote for the Conference of the IOA 2015. You can also download the paper as PDF.
PowerPoint Slides and a Sound Track (90 minutes with Q&A, 43.3 MB, 64kbps mp3, mono) allow you to see and hear what I presented.

What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself
but what has drawn your attention
in the streams of superimposed air pressure variations
at your eardrums

An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space
Have they been recorded and rendered sensibly?
