Terms, Conditions & Blacklist

The following applies to all LXmini, LXsirius, LXmini+2, LXstudio, LX521, ORION and PLUTO materials

Note:
All material is copyrighted and for the personal, non-commercial use by the person
who bought it from LINKWITZ LAB.
It may not be passed on in any form for use by others.
PDF files must not be distributed to others.

I aspire to a market place where everyone is rewarded for the value of their contribution and is not taken advantage of. I realize that this an idealistic view in today's money driven world of commerce. But I trust that those who seek excellence and experience joy in their life also have a strong sense of value, respect and fairness. I certainly have found this to be true for the large community of LXmini, LXmini+2, LXstudio, LX521, ORION and PLUTO builders and owners.

  1. In practice this means that when you give away or sell your LXmini, LXsirius, LXmini+2, LXstudio, LX521, ORION or PLUTO you also transfer the Documentation that you acquired from LINKWITZ LAB. Included should be a note about which version of the loudspeaker or electronics has been built by you. The new owner should then register as such with an e-mail to info@LINKWITZ.store. If later you decide to build another LXmini, LXmini+2, LXstudio, LX521, ORION or PLUTO for yourself, then you need to buy the documentation from me again.

  2. Should you want to build an LXmini, LXsirius, LXmini+2, LXstudio, LX521, ORION or PLUTO as a gift or for money for a friend or another party, then you need to acquire the corresponding Documentation and printed circuit boards from LINKWITZ LAB to accompany the loudspeakers. The owner should then register as such with an e-mail to info@LINKWITZ.store..

  3. Should you start a business selling subassemblies or complete systems for profit, then for each customer you must have first acquired the corresponding Documentation and printed circuit boards from LINKWITZ LAB. You must build the products as described by the instructions before you are allowed to declare them as LXmini, LXsirius, LXmini+2, LXstudio, LX521, ORION or PLUTO products.

  4.  www.LINKWITZ.store is licensed manufacturer of LINKWITZ LAB loudspeakers.
  5. Should you start promoting or selling products that alter or deviate from the LXmini, LXmini+2, LXstudio, LX521, ORION or PLUTO designs to express your own design preferences and trade-offs, but which are clearly recognizable as LXmini, LXmini+2, LXstudio, LX521, ORION or PLUTO inspired or derived products, then you must publicly and noticeably state

"<Your company name here> is not a licensee of www.LinkwitzLab.com"

Do not use my name, product labels, copyrighted information from my website and anything that might be mistaken as an endorsement of your product by LINKWITZ LAB. Otherwise I will place your name on my Blacklist. Such information travels fast on the Internet.

  6. Should you start promoting or selling products that alter or deviate from the LXmini, LXsirius, LXmini+2, LXstudio, LX521, ORION or PLUTO designs to express your own design preferences and trade-offs, but which are clearly recognizable as LXmini, LXsirius, LXmini+2, LXstudio, LX521, ORION or PLUTO inspired or derived products, and wish to have an endorsement by reference to LINKWITZ LAB, then you must have compared your product sonically - side by side, single and in stereo pairs - to the LXmini as reference.

    From LXmini Introduction:
"If each manufacturer would build a pair of LXmini's as reference for their product development to hear in which way they exceed or miss its performance, then real progress might be made. Each equipment reviewer should build a pair of LXmini's as reference to compare other speakers to and to describe in a perceptually meaningful way the differences between sound systems as experienced in their unique and shown listening environment. Since it is not difficult nor costly for consumers to build the LXmini as their reference, they would then know what to expect from a loudspeaker review.
I am not saying this because I think the LXmini is the ultimate sound quality reference, but because the LXmini defines a standard of excellence that top of the line loudspeakers should meet or exceed and be recognized for that by reviewers and consumers."

    Publicly and noticeably state:

    1)  < Inspired by www.LinkwitzLab.com
    2)  < In which way your product differs from the LXmini >.

I may add photos of your product and comments to the Other Designs page.

When you are profitable with your product, send me a gratitude fee per units sold to info@LINKWITZ.store at PayPal. You set the $$ amount.

Otherwise I will place your name on my Blacklist and point to it from the 'What's new" page. Such information travels fast on the Internet.

Blacklist

Here I list companies or individuals who have come to my attention for taking unfair advantage of LINKWITZ LAB's intellectual property and reputation.

Chinese counterfeits, using the Linkwitz name (or its Chinese translation), are unauthorized offers. Beware of fake drivers! As soon as there is an official Chinese dealer, we will endorse him on this website

Some poor quality Chinese products are sold e.g. as LinkWitz earphones via Amazon. The use of the name Linkwitz has not been authorised. See also this Financial Times article on how they generate reviews.

A company called Audio Bliss is not authorized to sell Linkwitz products. They are not an authorized SEAS dealer.

Be guided by fairness towards me when you use LINKWITZ LAB Intellectual Property to gain financial benefits.

Ask if you do not know what that means.

What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself
but what has drawn your attention
in the streams of superimposed air pressure variations
at your eardrums

An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space
Have they been recorded and rendered sensibly?
