PLUTO+ is a full-range loudspeaker system. It is comparable to the ORION+ and actually was the motivating force for adding a rear tweeter to ORION. Fundamentally, though, PLUTO+ is a different loudspeaker, because it radiates essentially uniformly into all directions, while ORION+ radiates predominantly forwards and backwards. Both forms of polar radiation response are highly desirable for loudspeakers that are used in normal living spaces. When properly set up, the loudspeakers and the room disappear sonically. You listen into the recorded space, filled with localized instruments and voices.  You have a  "you are there" experience and forget about everything else.

Wood Artistry offers PLUTO and PLUTO+ as turnkey products, ready to be plugged into your preamplifier. The loudspeakers are finished in shades of black and silver.

The PLUTO+ system includes electronic crossovers, equalizers, power amplifiers, power supplies, subwoofer cables and interconnects.

The 160W midrange and 40W tweeter power amplifiers are housed in the base of PLUTO together with the electronic crossover/equalizer and a power supply.

A separate electronic crossover/equalizer divides your preamplifier output signal into PLUTO and PLUTO-subwoofer power amplifier drive signals.

A 2x120W power amplifier drives the subwoofers.

PLUTO is a 2-way loudspeaker with built-in amplification. Thus the audio output from a computer, an iPod or a preamplifier can be plugged directly into its RCA inputs. PLUTO can also be directly connected to the loudspeaker terminals of a receiver.

The 5" woofer/midrange driver is crossed over at 1 kHz with 24 dB/oct slopes to a 1.5" tweeter. Further technical details are here.

The price of PLUTO is: $2995

PLUTO Subwoofer

The PLUTO subwoofer, its crossover/equalizer and its power amplifier provide extended bass frequency coverage and volume capability to PLUTO.

Each 10" subwoofer driver is crossed over by a 24 dB/oct filter at 100 Hz to a PLUTO woofer/midrange driver. Further technical details are here.

The price of the PLUTO subwoofer system is: $2495

Prices may have changed due to increases in material and labor costs.

What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself
but what has drawn your attention
in the streams of superimposed air pressure variations
at your eardrums

An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space
Have they been recorded and rendered sensibly?
